Ceniflores is the Colombian Centre for Innovation in Floriculture. It was founded on August 19, 2004, by the Colombian Flower Exporters’ Association (Asocolflores) as a non-profit corporation charged with the responsibility of organizing formally the sectors’ research initiatives.  

1. Orient and match national and international resources available for research with the needs of the Colombian flower sector while ensuring sustainable development.
2. Promote and implement research to both resolve problems and promote innovation and knowledge creation. The research emphasizes problems and opportunities that are common to the sector and can only be resolved in Colombia either because of the particular local conditions, or because they are not being investigated elsewhere.
3. Increase the diversity of flowers produced for export through research and extension.
4. Ensure that national and international research results reach the growers and the document their impact.
